CFP Clinic Staff

Millie Lockwood, RN
Patient Care Coordinator

Millie has been at CFP since 2000 and has enjoyed getting to know many of our
patients over the years. She has a BS in nursing from UT and a BA in Elementary
Education from Antioch College.

Millie started her work in healthcare as a midwife in Austin in the early 80s.
Connie Ryan was one of the midwives at the birth of her daughter, Anna. Millie
is considered to be the hub of CFP, managing patient care and doing liaison work
between patients, practitioners, pharmacists, and other providers.

Linda Miller, RN
Office Manager/RN

If you wonder why CFP runs like a well-oiled machine, look no further than CFP's office manager/RN, Linda Miller. Linda started out as a midwife, then worked as a Registered Nurse, both for many years, typically at large hospitals or systems.

Linda gravitated to CFP having known Connie Ryan from midwifery and because she wanted to work in a less rigid, more alternative medical environment. Linda loves working with the people at CFP the most—the staff and all who walk through its doors.

Melinda Charo, MA
Medical Assistant

This native Austinite has been involved in medicine and patient care since 2003. She has a passion for both pediatrics and home health care, volunteering at Shots for Tots, Girling/Lighthouse, and the American Heart Association.

Melinda has been with CFP since 2008. She's recently added certification for audiology/vision screening and enjoys the new dimension this adds to back-to-school or camp well-checks. Melinda multitasks between patient care and assisting our practitioners to administrative support and community
relations.

Sara Hernandez, MA
Medical Assistant

Sara has enjoyed working as a medical assistant for the past seven years in
Endocrinology, Ob/Gyn, and now Family Practice at CFP. Sara joined CFP in early
2009. Sara is happy to be at a smaller clinic working with a tight team who
appreciates her skill and efficiency.

Her personal passion is cooking, especially some of her favorite cuisine from
her native birthplace, Honduras. Sara has a sweet little family consisting of a
husband and two beautiful daughters.

Kristen Owens
Medical Assistant

Kristen has worked in the healthcare field since 2001. She did an 8-year stint as an Army medic and has worked in clinical research, blood banking, and managing a lab. She loves CFP because "Both the environment and my coworkers are great. I like getting to know my patients instead of a clinic being like an assembly line."

Kristen enjoys keeping herself and her dog healthy with lots of walking and swimming. Kristen also bartends at music festivals. We think she's a great "mix" with CFP!

Avi Minkoff
Administrative Support

Native New Yorker Avi's background in customer service and event coordination/marketing make him the perfect front-person for CFP. Since moving to Austin, Avi has worked all over town in many capacities before finally finding his place at the CFP front desk.

Working at CFP allows Avi to use his talents by interacting with patients and by working on special projects at CFP, including the informative CFP monthly newsletter.

Helena Kean
Administrative Support

Helena has been a Medical Assistant in dermatology, workers compensation, and physical therapy and rehabilitation. She came to CFP in January 2007 and she particularly enjoys the family aspect inherent in the CFP team and in the practice.

Helena has drastically reduced her hours at CFP to take on nursing school and attain her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. Her ultimate goal is to continue with post-graduate nursing school and become a Family Nurse Practitioner, just like Kate Wanstrom.

Buster Ryan
Licensed Dog

Buster has been practicing Puppy Medicine at CFP since early 2009. Prior to that, Buster doesn't remember much. He knows that he is incredibly happy with his mom, Connie, and his CFP family. Buster specializes in squeak toy surgery and chew therapy.
